'Takeaway' is not a bad word 🌮

Feb 24, 2022

You might have realised - I don’t cook. I don’t enjoy it. It feels like a waste of money to buy lots of ingredients to cook for one person, unless you’re going to eat the same thing for a few meals in a row - which is not my vibe either.

(*anymore. I used to live solely off turkey burgers and sweet potatoes!)

I know there are a lot of people who feel the same. They have busy lives and grab food on the go whenever they can. It’s just not their priority, and that’s ok.

But what if these people want to drop some body fat or feel a bit healthier?

I don’t want people to think that they can only improve their health by cooking everything they eat from scratch. This is why I don’t like people being handed meal plans. Talk about completely overhauling your days to go shop, prep, cook and clean up!

You *can* grab food on the go and still lose body fat.

You *can* pay somebody else to cook for you, if that’s where your values lie.

(That sounds like I’m suggesting a live-in chef but I mean more like a meal prep company!)

There are no good or bad foods.

There are some foods that are more conducive to your health and fitness goals (e.g. high protein meals with lots of veg) and others that might make it a little more difficult (e.g. pepperoni pizza).

Even if you are the type of person that enjoys cooking but loves to have a night “off” and have a takeaway - that’s completely possible to fit into your goals of dropping body fat or getting healthier.

It just might mean choosing something like Thai food over Dominos. Or getting the pizza, but being aware of the nutritional content and how that fits into your goals.

Yes, it is definitely easier to smash your goals if you are preparing your own food and not just guessing the nutritional content of meals.

But how long will that last for the person who is too busy to cook but wants to get healthier?

They might keep it up for a week or two... but how long could they keep it up if they were still able to eat on the fly, but just making more informed decisions?

I just hate seeing people trying too hard when trying to lose body fat.

It’s actually so simple, but it takes consistency. And consistency needs convenience and strong habits.

Do you know what’s hard to be consistent at? Things you don’t enjoy or don’t have time for (e.g. cooking).
